Missoula, MT October 2, 2009 – The Business Careers in Entertainment Club is pleased to present the innovative and exciting Asian Hip-Hop Summit On October 25th at the Palace Lounge. The Asian Hip-Hop Summit is teaming up with Tonsonfun, Slopstar, and Traffic for a night of live hip-hop and rock. Doors are at nine pm and tickets are five dollars at the door.

The first Asian Hip-Hop Summit was held in Seoul International Park in Koreatown, Los Angeles in April of 2002. It commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Los Angeles riots by showcasing Korean and pan-Asiatic performers and by raising money for North Korean famine victims. Despite the concentrated Asian population in Los Angeles and Orange County, the summit was the first concert featuring Korean and pan-Asiatic musicians in Los Angeles. It is also credited with creating the Asian hip-hop scene and subculture in Los Angeles that has produced a wide variety of prominent Asiatic talent. Since 2002, the Summit has continued to put on concerts benefiting a number of groups, establishments, and organizations. This year they’re traveling to 28 different cities in North America for 28 annual festivals of Asiatic music.

About BCEC – The Business Careers in Entertainment Club is a student run organization that works to provide job opportunities, information, and experience to students interested in the business aspects of the entertainment industry. Since the founding of the Business Careers in Entertainment Club at the University of Montana in 2008, it has welcomed an increasing number of artists and events to Missoula.
